Jigawa Pays N442million To University Land Owners

The Jigawa state government yesterday commenced the payment of
N442,531,956.49 million compensation for members of the Magorawa
community where the Federal University Dutse’s permanent site is
located. This was disclosed to newsmen by the Permanent
Secretary,Jigawa state Ministry of Land,Housing,Urban Development and
Regional Planning,Alhaji Nasiru Muhammed Sani while handing over
cheques to their owners at the palace of Turakin Dutse,Alhaji Jamilu
Basiru Sanusi.

He said the Ministry has already prepared their new settlement for them adding that what remains is for them to cash their monies and use
it judiciously to resettle themselves.

The Permanent Secretary thanked them for their understanding and
cooperation.He advised them to relocate as soon as possible to enable
the University commence development in earnest.

In his remark,the Turakin Dutse,Alhaji Jamilu Basiru Sanusi thank the
Ministry for fulfilling their promise of paying the compensation this
week adding that the coming of the university will bring a lot of
development to the community.

The Vice -Chancellor Federal University Dutse,Prof.Jibrilla Dahiru
Amin also thanked the community for their. Understanding adding that
the community will benefit from the university in the short and long
run
