Come out and meet Okwute’ don’t miss your chance to earn good money” yelled the local town crier in Igbo language in Umuoji community – as he announced the scheduled arrival of the Anambra State governor to the community – the next day.

According to information reaching 247ureports.com, local microphone dissemination by agents of Governor Peter Obi have announced that the governor will be visiting Umuoji tomorrow [Wednesday] to campaign for his preferred candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial elections. The agents, as gathered, were asking all to come out and support whoever the governor will show them for the governorship elections – tomorrow.

Umuoji is in Idemili North Local government Area of the state which voted massively for the Action Congress of Nigeria [ACN] in the previous election.

The agents and/or announcers numbered three, according to eyewitness account. They were specifically promising cash gifts and motorcycles to those who can come out.

It is interesting to note that the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] stipulates that the campaign program for the Anambra gubernatorial elections are to begin no earlier than August 18.
