The Rivers State leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says Governor Chibuike Amaechi’s unconcern attitude to the welfare of the injured lawmaker representing Obio/Akpor State Constituency II, Hon Michael Chinda and his preference to hosting of arranged solidarity visits have further exposed his unremorseful and unforgiving spirit.
Hon Felix Obuah, State Chairman of the party expressed this while on visit to the injured lawmaker in his London Hospital in company of other prominent political leaders in the State.
Hon Obuah regretted that despite the frightening state of the lawmaker’s health occasioned by the devastating attack on him by Chidi Lloyd, Gov Amaechi has not deemed it worthwhile to ask after his welfare, but rather chose to be hosting solidarity visits from his instigators at the expense of the depleting Rivers resources.
It should be noted that since the unfortunate incident of July 9, 2013 at the State House of Assembly, two weeks after, Gov Amaechi has neither visited the injured lawmaker, nor his family, nor made any enquiries about his welfare which the party leadership described as inhuman and unfortunate.
Also speaking during the condolence visit, the Minister of State for Education, Chief Ezenwo Nyesom Wike marveled at the uncanny and barbaric character of Chidi Lloyd to inflict such injury on a fellow human being.
Barr Wike however thanked God that the injured lawmaker, Hon Michael Chinda is still alive and enjoined his constituents and family members to remain calm, stressing that justice must be given on the matter.
Other prominent Rivers State leaders who accompanied the State leadership of the PDP on the overseas trip include Rt. Hon Austin Opara, Dr Abiye Sekibo, Hon Kenneth Kobani and a former Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State, Boma Iyaye.
Both leaders condemned the brutal physical assault suffered by Hon Chinda, describing it as pre-meditated, bizarre, evil and vicious, and also describing the injurer, Chidi Lloyd and those in support of this evil as heartless, animalistic and lacking integrity.
The state leaders however thanked God that despite the life-threatening knocks from a mace-wielding House leader, Chidi Lloyd, Hon Michael Chinda survived and is fast stabilizing.
