As general fasting which is annually conducted by Muslims in the country
and the world in general approaches, the Nigerian Jama,Atul Nasaril Islam has begun conducting rounds – to give guide and condition to Islamic
preachers in the state under the leadership of its secretary general
Alhaji kalid Abubakar Aliyu.
According to Aliyu, the purpose of their visit to Jigawa state will enable
them to interact with leadership of the state Muslim Ummah – to meet
with them to receive the input and constructive criticism on how best
to discharge their responsibilities at the national headquarter of the
organization.
The secretary lamented that Nigerians – especially the northern
part of the country where they were having series of problem –
affecting day to day activities are predominantly occupied by Muslim
groups who have the majority population.
He noted the level of insecurity in the north that has crippled
the region. He called it a situation that has resulted to the loss of lives on frequent
basis and properties worth billions of naira.
He added that the general impact of all the violence is that the society will begin
drifting into an unpredictable destination. He prayed to Almighty God to
continue saving the dear lives of the society.
He called on the Jigawa state government to construct the
permanent secretariat of jama,at nasaril islam with installation of
modern equipment – and he requested the state government to provide a bus
for official engagement.
He added also that jama, atu was established by sir, ahmadu bello sardauna of
sokoto with the aims of promoting Islam and protecting the interest of
Muslim groups in the north with the support of traditional rulers in
the country
He charged the Islamic preachers in the country to mind their
tong as fasting of Ramadan is approaching – advising them that they
should not use their sharp mouth to create violence or blackmail people –
“it is against the teaching of Islam”.
He lamented that as a result of the insecurity level in some northern states
of the federation – which include borno, yobe and adamawa, a lot of
children are no longer attending schools.
The Emir of Hadejia Alhaji Adamu Abubakar
maje Haruna who is the deputy national secretary of the association
said the aims of establishing the association is to unite the Muslim
Ummah in the country with a view to bring peace among members of
Islamic communities.
He charged the Muslim groups from whatever sects or association to be united under the leadership of jama, atul nasaril islam – while advising them to desist from being misused to blackmail other people or witch-hunt others, “such things will create avenue of
destabilizing the unity of musilm ummah”.
The emir further stated that they can go to any length to protect the
interest of Islam and members of Muslim groups – this was as he charged the
general public to always support jama, atu for the success of their
target objective to bring unity among Muslim ummah in the country.
The emir solicited for the ulamas and general public’s support in order to
promote Islam “because without ulamas’ support and general public nothing
could be achieved”.
