Illegal Aliens from Niger Attack/Injure 7 Immigration Officers in Jigawa

No fewer than 7 members of the Nigerian immigration service were
seriously injured by people suspected to be members of the Niger
republic residing at Babura Local government area of Jigawa state – the
controller of the immigration PSC, Abubakar Bamalli confirmed to 247ureports.com

He explained that all of the seven members were attacked by suspects yielding knives and
cutlasses. They immigration officers sustained serious injuries in various places of their body.

The officers are said to have been hospitalized at State hospital.

The controller continued to add that the deportation operation will continue – regardless of the attack on the officers. He said the operation will resume after the Islamic fasting period – “nobody will stop them from conducting their duty”.

Deportation of non-Nigerians will continue in Jigawa state” stated the controller who went on to add that about 310 people have been released by the Nigerian immigration service after they were picked up and processed and found to be Nigerians.

Bamalli stated that those released were among the 697 people arrested in the first quarter of the exercise in 13 local government areas.

He decried lack of working facilities at all border areas of the state. He described the Nigerian border as very porous – for everybody to enter with ease.  He explained that in all the borders area in Jigawa to Niger – that no single vehicle – are available to patrol the area – and no presence of police officers unlike before where all the security men were working together.

He expressed concern over the poor welfare of his people, no school for their children, no hospitals for their family adding that as a boss himself – he has no official vehicle to conduct an official assignment in the state.
