With the rising spate of criminality in Nasarawa state, the state Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, according to pundits has awarded a contract for the installations of CCTV camera in and around the seat of power.
An impeccable source reveals that a colossal amount of tax-payers money has been injected into the project of CCTV cameras without lenses. The source adds that the installations of the surveillance cameras are not a unproductive venture. 247ureports learnt that the contract was awarded to a one time military Governor of Benue state and a northerner who was said to be a close friend to Governor Al-Makura.
Fresh fact indicates that the contract was upshot from the normal market price of the surveillance cameras, despite the huge amount of money expended in what people refer to as white elephant project.
In addition, it is gathered that twenty six (26) months after assuming office, the Governor is yet to relocate to his official abode along shendam road. Reliable source confided that over N2.5bn has so far been committed in the renovation, expansion and procurement of furniture and gadgets in the Government House.
Also, the governor has spent over N270m on the purchase of palm seedlings – unfortunately vast of the palm died due to negligence by the gardeners.
