The Minister of Information Labaran Maku has assured the people of Nasarawa of uninterrupted power supply before the end of 2015, Maku stated this at a political gathering marking the distribution of three (3) Golf vehicle and forty (40) Jincheng motorcycles
to party supporters by member Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Honorable Muhammed Muluku.
The information minister said the ongoing sub-station project
in Lafia, The state capital was meant to addressing the blackout experienced in
some part of the state, He buttressed that the sub-station if completed will
curtailed the persistent power outage in Lafia the state capital and it
environ.
Labaran Maku said President Goodluck Jonathan has fulfilled
his campaign covenant with the people of Nasarawa state by embarking on
projects that has unswerving impact in the lives of the citizenry, saying the
commitment of the federal Government is a litmus test to the good work of the President.
He listed some of the development stride of the PDP include
the rehabilitation of Doma-Lafia road,Mararaban Akunza-Agwatashi-Awe
road,saying the road project will be extended to Tunga community of Awe Local
Government,Other stride include the construction of federal secretariat and
Central Bank of Nigeria.
The minister asserted that Nasasawa state remains a PDP state,
He further the current administration also established Federal University in
Lafia, others Army Battallion in Doma and Mobile Squadron Base 56 to curtail
the security challenges facing the state.
The information minister added that the federal Government doles out One
hundred and twenty (120) computers to twenty public secondary schools in a bid
to enhancing science education.
Also he highlighted the commitment of the federal Government
towards reducing poverty and unemployment in the state,Maku aver that the PDP
Government has put in place machinery in place to encourage irrigation
farming,saying Doma Dam will be useful for dry season farming,He said the
irrigation farming will serves as a source of employment to the unemployed
youth.
On poverty reduction,The minister said ten thousand (10,000)
youth and women will engaged by under the presidential Subsidy Reinvestment and
Economic Programme (SURE-P) He buttress that the federal Government engaged the
service three thousand persons,saying additional two thousand (2000) have been
engaged.
On the unabated insecurity that enveloped Nasarawa state,
Labaran Maku called on the people of the state to leave peacefully with one
another, describing peace as an essential artery for the development of any
nation, appealing to the people of the state to tolerate one another in spite
of the ethnic and religious differencies.
In the area of primary education,Maku said the federal
Government is commited towards overhauling primary education by constructing
storey building at primary schools,He added that the federal Government paid
her counterpart fund to Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board,He
stated that the project is collaborative effort of federal and state
Government.
