We condemn in totality, the killing of 3 innocent Nigerian students of
the prestigious university of uyo by some trigger itching police men.
These killings of Nigerians students have become a habit of our
policemen whenever they are called to calm situations arising from
students protests. We want to state categorically that we are in a
democratic setting and therefore, every nigerian have the right to
protest whenever their rights is being trampled upon by highly placed
authorities.
Last week, a 300level student of the university of benin was shot dead
by some group of policemen who later claimed that the student was an
armed robber, it has been happening in various institutions of higher
learning and nothing has been done by the Federal, State or even the
university government to stop the un-holy act of our security agents.
We want to use this medium to register our displeasure and
disappointment to the leadership of the National Association of
Nigerian students (NANS), for keeping mute at this crucial times that
the lives of innocent students are being cut short by some demons in
the disguise of policemen
We also want to use this medium want to use this medium call on the
president of this great Nation, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the
National assembly to look into this issue of students killings and
bring the policemen involved to justice.
