Imo state government has donated a 36-seater brand new Toyota coaster
bus to the heartland football club of Owerri.
While handing over the key on behalf of the Governor to the Commissioner for
Youths and Sports, Comrd Kenneth Emelu, the Secretary to the State
Government, Prof. Anthony Anwuka said the gesture is to further
encourage them and appreciate the efforts they are making to bring
more laurels to the state.
He urged them to make good use of the bus to actualize the
desire of Imo to get to greater heights in the nation sports.
Receiving the key on behalf of Heartland FC, the Commissioner for
Youths and Sports, Comrd. Kenneth Emelu thanked the Governor for
donating the bus to the club stressing that the gesture is in
appreciation of their โback to backโ victory of F.A cup, the charity
cup and the Super 4 making Heartland champion of champions in
Nigeria.
He promised that Heartland FC will come back with the league cup of
2013 to break the jinx of 28 years of no league trophy in Imo
state, noting that the bus would encourage the club to
travel far and wide to play their matches and claim victory.
Speaking also, the Head of Administration, Heartland FC, Mr. Oscar Keke on
behalf of the General Manager and the management of Heartland FC
thanked the governor for donating a brand new coaster bus to the club
and assured the governor and the people of Imo state that, the club
will do everything possible to lift the Federation and League trophies
this season.
