The minister made the disclosure at the inauguration of some constituency projects executed by Mr Mohammed Muluku, the member representing Nasarawa Eggon East in the state legislature.

He said the people of Nasarawa State would, with the inauguration of the complex in Lafia, “no longer need to travel to such places as Benue and Plateau in the search for justice’’.

Mr. Maku said the completion of the court complex’s construction was an indication of the confidence and love President Jonathan has for the people of the state.

“Before now, the people of Nasarawa State travel as far as  Jos in Plateau or Makurdi in Benue to seek for justice in the federal high courts. But now the story has changed.

“The President (Jonathan) has supported the building and completion of the Federal High Court complex in Lafia. It is the first in the state and will be commissioned by Jonathan himself on July 4,’’ he said.

The minister said the PDP-led government at the federal level and its representatives in the state legislature were committed to the welfare of the people.

“The court project is just one among the numerous people-oriented projects embarked upon by the PDP government,’’ he said.

Mr. Maku said the other projects were at different stages of completion in the state.

He also said the federal government had approved the construction of a N2 billion electricity sub-station in Lafia.

“The project will take off as soon as the state government makes land available for the commencement of work,’’ the minister said.

Mr. Maku urged the people of the state, particularly those in the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area, to remain steadfast with the party.

“More projects will be delivered in due course,’’ he said.

The minister urged the party faithful in the area to embrace peace and imbibe the culture of tolerance and forgiveness as the state strives to overcome the challenges of insecurity.

He also advised youths in the area not to allow themselves to be used for destructive activities.

Mr. Maku assured them that the federal government was working on increasing the state’s quota in the SURE-P employment programme.

He further told the PDP faithful in the Nasarawa Eggon area that the party would return to power by 2015, saying the party’s structures in the state were still firm.

The  projects inaugurated  related to youth empowerment and provision of water, worth several millions of Naira, were inaugurated by the minister.

He was accompanied during the inauguration by the   Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Musa Mohammed
