A Permanent Commissioner in the Jigawa state Independent Electoral
Commissioner – who also holds a traditional title in Dutse emirate, Alhaji
Idris Kachi (Ganuwar Dutse) along with four others were abducted by members of Boko haram
in the capital city of Borno state.
According to the report from the family of the people and senior members of the commission Alhaji Haruna Idris Magama who is also a traditional title holder in hadejia emirate, the Koguna of Hadejia said that for about two month – the commission and family of the victims and Dutse emirate council – have yet to receive any report about the missing officials of the commission.
Magama explained that since they disappeared no one has heard of their whereabouts. “No one has come across their live or dead bodies – including their brand new Toyota Hilux – which belong to the State electoral body”.
A family source within the monarch revealed that Alhaji Idi Kachi had left his country home in Dutse with his eldest son, senior brother, driver and a childhood friend with the intention to go to Maiduguri to condoled one of the monarch’s who is also a close associate to him who lost his father.
Security officials speculate that he may have been kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be members of the boko haram.
A cousin to Alhaji Muhammed who spoke to 247ureports.com in tears said “I’m confused, we don’t know what to do, why all of them at the same time? Alhaji is humble, generous, peace loving and man of the people who has no enemy assisting who ever came across without discriminating“.
Alhaji Muhammed further disclosed “we don’t know their state of health, may God Almighty protect them and return them back home safely where ever they are”.
The state government of Jigawa through the state governor Alhaji Sule Lamido had already directed the Joint Task Force in the state and their members in Maiduguri and Yobe state to collaborate together to arrest the situation in order for the monarch’s whereabouts and their condition.
