A Jigawa staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) Malam
Ilu Muhammad was killed on Monday while working on an electric line
pole in Dutse.
The deceased was said to have been directed to work on the main 33 KVA
line which was developing some problems after the operator has
switched off the electricity on the line but forgot to ground
the switch.
According to one of the PHCN staff and also a close associate of the
deceased, Malam Ilu was there when the
line was switched off in accordance with the safety rules.
“Ilu was already on top of the electric pole
when he was electrocuted by the live wire that mutilated parts of his
body.
The deceased who hails from Kiyawa local government area of the state
is married to two wives and many children.
