I feel so reluctant writing rejoinders to the uninspiring, delirous and blackmailing submissions of Odimegwu Onwumere. Calling them articles will be a great misnomer as his twisted pieces will hardly measure up in any way with acceptable norms of writing. They are so much characterized with confused verbs, non existent expressions and banal logics. To reveal his debased intent, none of his claims are evident even when juxtaposed with the most minimal of scales. It is unfortunate that a journalistic goon and unrepentant school dropout will continue to insult a popularly elected, and an incumbent governor such as Sir T.A. Orji. One thing is certain; the flagrant conflagrations ignited by onwumere will one day consume him.

For those who do not know him and his antics, Onwumere is a proven blackmailer and vagrant of no fixed address. He claims Rivers State and at times Aba. It is on record that he was nabbed in UBA Port-Harcourt where he went to pick up a blackmail payoff unaware that his victim had alerted the security officials of the bank. According to Patrikobi an online publication, he is an ex-convict having served time for libel. Last year he was questioned for molesting minors having laid a good foundation for his criminal act as he pretended to run an N.G.O. Is such a character worth our precoius time, costly mental perspiration and prized appropriation? Check out http//juristlaws.blogspot.com/2012/08/ ‘Odimegwu Onwumere nabbed.’

From his recent publication in Mordern Ghana, an online publication, he imagined and wants people to believe that Abia State Government House is no more comfortable for His Excellency Sir T.A. Orji and so he embarks on trips abroad. He cited the last Canadian trip as an example. The world knows that the trip of the Governor and entourage was a national affair involving other state Governors and presidential aides. It was titled the ‘Nigeria-Canada Investment Summit,’ so why single the governor of Abia for oprobium if odimegwu is well intended? Other trips by the Governor are known and have achieved monumental results. His Excellency was at John Hopkins University, United States of America, where he delivered a thought-provoking lecture, hinting on Governance in Nigeria while urging Nigerians in diaspora to come home, invest, contribute their quota to home growth and partner with Government in many fields. Can there be a more patriotic service to state and nation than this?

As an accountable personality who exercises the mandate of the people, he takes time to brief Abians of his missions whenever he comes back from journeys, and I ask: is there anything wrong with that? As stated above, these trips are followed with results. Shanid Agro International is in Ohambele Ukwa East, rehabilitating the Abia Palm Estate. Shoprite, the South African Superstore chain is in Umuahia, Abia Rubber Company in Abam Arochukwu Local Government Area, enjoys a PPP contract with a foreign firm facilitated by Abia Government. There are many verifiable examples.

In March 2013, Engineer Joe Etto, the president of World Igbo Congress in America, a reputable cultural group of Igbo extraction and lobby group visited Abia and publicly acknowledged in an interview in the THISDAY newspaper of April that Abia is on the right course. Daily Post online of March 25th posited same. So what else do we need? The corrugated opinions of Odimegwu, his likes and paymasters put together fall on T.A. Orji and Abians like blunt darts of serious regret.

Probably his delirious ear is yet to hear about the meeting of opposition parties in Abia compromising: ANPP, CPC, DPP, APGA, ACN. All respectively represented by the following- Chief Cassidy Agbai- Chairman, Kalu kalu, Ikonne Okechukwu, Chief Ozo Abata and Chief Egwunatu Egbulefu who jointly and emphatically agreed to support good governance in the South East no matter the party.

In one month interval, the Executive Chamber of Abia State was abuzz with quality and valuable visits from Hon Boon Intiratana, the commercial counselor of the Royal Thai Embassy in quest of Agric Tourism and agro processing. Ambassador Hoang Ngoc Ho, Vietnamese Ambassador to Nigeria talked about trade cooperation in agricultural, manufacturing, construction, pharmacy and textile. Jeffrey Hawkins, U S. consular General in Lagos with a powerful entourage numbering over five Americans with the deputy, Mrs Dehab, mooted ideas not too far from the former. Could these incorruptible officers of sworn integrity and gazetted probity have left their hallowed embassies for a jamboree in Abia?

Locally the Governor has been awarded pass marks from Federal Government personalities. Who did not hear of the good Governance tour that couldn’t finish visiting the projects sites because of its numerosity? The Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, NUJ Chairman Mallam M. Garba, RATTAWO President, Hon Yemi Gbamgbose, Mallam Lamido Sanusi who crowned the governor as the best on youth empowerment during his Ochendo annual lecture series on APRIL 24, 2013. Are all these oracles aides of Ochendo who sing his praises?

Just last week, Hon. Ozo Mgbachi – the house committee chairman on works visited Abia with his committee members on their oversight functions verifying Federal Government projects especially those done by the state for which the state is owed huge amounts. After their tour they extolled the efforts of His Excellency in over all infrastructure and added a new appellation- Ochendo Global. Are these sychophants too?

Monday, 20TH May 2013, Alhaji Aminu Tanbuwal, speaker of the Federal House of Reps made a short visit and commissioned two completed projects, the ASEPA House which was started not too long ago and the Industrial Market at Azueke Ndume. Are these phoney people?

Abia has recovered from many diseases inflicted by bad leadership of the past. I may not delve into the Legacy Projects dotting the landscape of Abia like the new workers secretariat spawning the first elevator in Abia which Odimegwu knows too well but for his selfish interests of desperately blackmailing for his irregular meals has refused to acknowledge lest he annoys his paymasters. Not to worry about that, the sun is shining and the wonderful works of T.A. Orji- Ochendo are wondrous in the eyes of men and God.

Shame on Onwumere!

God bless Abia. May we have more Ochendos

Now we know who the real Blackmailers are. Indeed, a bigger shame on you T. A Orji and boys for cooking up these stories of extortion, rape, ex-convict and all the rubbish you wrote against the innocent Odimegwu Onwumere. Which police arrested him? Where is the police picture showing he was paraded as you foolishly want people to believe? You culled his pictures from the internet and begin to write rubbish with them, using fake names. Which of Odimegwu’s grammar was bad? Editors sought for him than you want novice to read in your favour. Odimegwu had replied you last year when you volubles started these drivels against him. You have stopped writing the same rubbish against Reagan Ufomba, bcs he sued you to court demanding N10B. Useless aides. It is not Odimegwu that will be consumed for telling the truth, but you liars. Karma must befall you. You make Odimegwu a star with your rantings.

Odimegwu Onwumere re-arrested in PH over rape

Self styled poet Odimegwu Onwumere who was recently arrested and released has been arrested again by the police over the rape of a 10 year old girl in Porthacourt. Odimegwu who is Uzor Kalu’s pimp and his mother’s boy friend was arrested in mile 2 Diobu after his atrocities. Odimegwu a known informant to kidnappers is being detained and may be charged to court soon. The celebrated con man who specializes in blackmailing politicians it was learnt has sought the intervention of Uzor Kalu. According to our source, the former Abia governor is tired with Odimegwu’s life style which he described as very reckless. Kalu is however hooked as any attempt not to help Odimegwu will force his boy to expose him, a situation kalu may not like. Odimegwu’s parents have already disowned him. The parents of the raped girl have called on the IG not to spare Odimegwu, as it will serve as a deter ant to others

It is only a government that has nothing to offer that always cook-up such story as this against Odimegwu Onwumere. Since last year when he began to talk about your government, you start to write this rubbish of rape, ex-convict, extortionist, etc against him. Reading him, he uses his grammar well than this nonsense called article you put here and the publisher allowed you. For the records, Odimegwu Onwumere had written that your lies against him can never be bought. His article is here: http://junglejournalist.wordpress.com/2012/10/20/rape-extortion-saga-odimegwu-onwumere-replies-abia-propagandists/

RE: GOV. ORJI AND FOREIGN TRIPS

    Nnachi Kalu
I have read the falsehood being disseminated by Odimegwu Onwumere against the person of the Governor of Abia State, Chief T.A. Orji and indeed an outright attempt to demonize the government of Abia State on the back page of Guardian Monday May 27; 2013
Odimegwu Onwumere is a serial liar who believes that a lie repeated overtime would have the face of the truth. One would have felt that responding to his sounds of a broken record would mean over indulging him. It is however important to set the records straight and in the interest of the very many people who still value the truth said in plain language.
In the first instance, Onwumere lacks the moral justification to make comments regarding the development of Abia State. He was a strong member of former Gov. Orji Uzor Kalu’s kitchen cabinet. He thus supervised the strategic killing of Abia State evident in the selling off of virtually all institutions in Abia State including but not limited to Golden Guinea Breweries, Ceramic Industries and unfortunately ceding of the Ogwe Golden Chicken Farm to kidnappers.
Onwumere did not see anything wrong in the criminal rape suffered by Abia economy between 1999 and 2007. Abia in his mind was right and in good health. Onwumere did not see anything wrong in ruling Abia from overseas which was Orji Uzor kalu’s lot. Onwumere knew that for eight years, Orji Uzor left the country a record sixty three times. He would need to tell us his take on that and why he was struck by numbness while that charade lasted. He would also need to tell us what dividends of democracy were recorded other than the shameful football story of “back to back” .
Assuming TAO would embark on overseas trip another sixty three times to fix Abia, we would sincerely not mind. If it would take TAO one million trips to correct the criminal administration of Abia, we would vote with our legs, mouth and nose to support him. Ironically, TAO is not an International businessman, he does not own a Shipping Company, does not run an Airline nor does he have chains of businesses in Gambia, the US, Europe and Asia. He leaves Abia State on a mission but in the final analysis, he is determined to heal the wounds of the past.
In your ignorance, you have continued to mislead the public. The trip to Canada was at the instance of the Vice President of the Federal republic of Nigeria and the Nigerian High Commissioner to Canada, an illustrious Abian, Chief Ojo Madukwe. TAO joined other State Governors in trying to assess the potentials of trade investments. If he had made a comment regarding strengthening bilateral agreements between Nigeria and Canada, then he is perfectly correct because Nigeria’s trade agreements with any country can only be boosted by fragments of integrated efforts. So, what point were you making?
Chief T.A. Orji is learned and not given to Razzmatazz. He is not selfish and does not rule by subterfuge and blackmail. He does not believe in showmanship but strongly determined to recover Abia from the doldrums of monumental underdevelopment which your likes supervised. He is working hard to restore all the years eaten up by locust which the Onwumeres unfortunately were privy to.
For the six years TAO has served as Governor of Abia State; he has only had cogent reason to leave the shores of Nigeria for a modest seven times including his normal vacation. And it might interest you to note that the palm plantation which your principal sold off and mismanaged is now yielding good investments. Shanid is a foreign investor that has strategically turned the fortunes of Abia Palm Plantation. That Palm Plantation was useless while your principal was globetrotting. Imoni – Yemi is a Benin Republic based Rubber company and are currently doing wonders with the Rubber Plantation that is just by the backyard of your principal.
May be you need to be given lessons on what “Silent Agriculture revolution” is. In just few trips, we have been able to have the best Cocoa farm sprawling a massive 450 hectares with the most productive seedlings; whose result will in no time stun selfish people like you. Silent Revolution means that we have usefully partnered foreign investors who have introduced the most productive cassava stems which again would buoy food and wealth for Abians.
In no time, you would see the manifestation of those bilateral agreements because they were made in good faith and with no deceit in mind. TAO is committed to strengthening the economy of Abia State and would not insist that even the ones that appear to be a ruse are hastily concluded. The investments that have not taken off are the ones still entangled in the cobweb of super antic which was the lot of Abians for those eight horrifying years.
The State Government reserves the right to review all trade and partnership proposals so that we would be get right. You know nothing about the Monorail project and made comments regarding it in bad faith. The company proposing the Monorail had stated ab initio that they intend connecting the whole of South East and would start a pilot test with Enugu State. If the German company that proposed the waste to wealth investment is not yet on ground, then it would be that the collective interest of Abians may not have been guaranteed.
TAO is busy building 701 primary health centres and strengthening tertiary health institutions in the State. We never had a health centre that could serve as referral point. Before now, we were all moving to neighboring States for medical attention. You did not write about that while the false party lasted for eight years.
We are busy developing infrastructure so that we would naturally become the beautiful bride and just a safe haven for investors. We are interested in rebranding and repackaging Umuahia and indeed other communities so that we could survive on self while direct foreign investments would just be a plus. We have done the Aba – Umukabia Road so that the foreign investor who would dredge and open up the Aba river would have an access road to move equipment.
Let us say you have just woken up from a deep slumber. You will just realize that Abia State has miraculously moved from that static point where you and your cohorts condemned it to. Umuahia is no longer a glorified village while Aba people have been offered more than watching football. The sixty seven clusters of motor parks which hitherto serviced the supply of touts for the very many sinister jobs which you supervised have all been dismantled giving way for a secured, serene and peaceful Aba.
