Nigerian Airforce Plane Shot Down in Niger Republic, 2 dead

Information reaching 247ureports.com indicates that a Nigerian airforce plane has crashed in Niger Republic.

Sketchy information coming out of the security agency indicate that the crash occurred in Niamey, Niger Republic. For now, two pilots, Squadron Leader Adoo and Flying Officer Layelmenson have been reported dead. The air force plane was reportedly on military operations in Niger.

A source near the activities at the security agency report that the plane may have been shot down by enemy fire – possibly from Jihadist based group – the likes of Boko Haram and other like organizations. The Nigeria military force have been engaged heavily at the border towns in Borno State – of recent.

In a statement by Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters issued in Abuja. Brig.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, Director Defence Information, said the aircraft was on a non-combat mission when it crashed.
