The recent killings in Nasarawa State between the police and the traditionalists of the Ombatse group appears yet unresolved as the top police boss in the country, M. D. Abubakar along with the Governor of the State, Malam Al Makura made failed attempts at calming the fast rising tensions within the communities and the protesting police widows who had pointed blame at the Governor.
Information available to 247ureports.com through a source within the traditionalists of Ombatse indicates that the elders of the group will be making a formal appearance before the press to make official their stance to the general public – on the killings of police officers and the killings of their community members by the police.
The decision to address the press came following a visit yesterday by the police top boss – where he made the pledge to fish out the people responsible for the killing of the Nigerian police officers. He also revealed that the Ombatse people were still holding four police officers alive as hostages – and that the police force is determined and is working to set the four hostages free. He also assured the protesting police widow of security and succor.
