Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has opened up on the killings of police officers in Nasarawa State. He indicated that stiff penalty awaits the killers of Uniform men – of the State Security Service, Mobile Police, Criminal Investigation Department and Police at Alakyo.
The Governor gave the hint when he received political movers and shakers from Nasarawa south senatorial district on a condolence visit to the shendam road Government House Landlord over the mass killings of security operatives.
The Governor said all those found wanting at the end of the ongoing investigation will never go scot free from the wrath of the law, describing the killings as a devilish act, stating further that the devilish act will not deter him from carrying out his responsibility to the people of the state. He stated also that the present moment is time for mourning but not time to open wounds.
“Know them and we will fish them out no matter their statuesque in the society”, He maintained that those fomenting trouble in the state show no passion for the survival of the state, ascribing the killings as unacceptable, immoral, calling on people of the state to remained united, resolute, calm and vigilant at all times.
The leader of the delegation, Tanko Wambai, a front-line politician and a defeated contender of senate seat in 2011 election also strongly condemned the lingering crisis that continue to rock the state, attributing the rift to the hand work of misguided elements in the society – that the act was a calculated attempt to cause confusion in the state, saying it will not work. He said people of Nasarawa south are in full support of the incumbent regime under the leadership of Governor Al-Makura.
