Gov Al-Makura Introduces Teachers Training Centres

The Government of Nasarawa State under the leadership of Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura in a bid to enhanced capacity building among teachers in the state  has introduce an intervention centre termed  Almakura Educational Disadvantage Intervention Scheme for the training  of teachers in the state, The executive Chairman of Nasarawa State Universal Basic Board,Abdulkarim Mohammed gave the disclosure when the national executive of the National Association of Parent Teachers Association (NAPTAN) paid him a courtesy at his office.

The Nsubeb boss aver that the introduction of AEDIS was initiated by the state Governor  to tackle the perverseness of unqualified teachers that mar primary education will be tackle systematically ,adding that most of the teachers teaching in primary schools in the state lacks the prerequisite qualification to teach and laying them off will not argue well for the system.

Abdulkarim further identified the presence of unqualified teachers in the system to the major constraint  that lea to the dwindling  of primary education,The executive chairman appealed to NAPTAN to join hands with the incumbent administration towards transforming the education sector ,adding that the cardinal objective of Governor Almakura’s regime is to redefined primary education been the cradle of education.

calling on NAPTAN to assist the state Government by checkmating teachers  in the habit of truancy and ineptitude towards discharging their responsibility to the state,”if you  don’t change the trend we change you said the chairman,”PTA are given the mandate to find out whether teachers are attentive to duty or not,The National president of NAPTAN,Haruna Danjuma eulogized the holistic effort of the Government of Nasarawa state,saying ICT is the prime driver of  sustainable national development as well as the individual within the contemporary society,He however said that the attainment of  qualitative education rest on heavily on the use of Art/crafts.

He described the concerted approach of Governor Al-Makura  as worthy of emulation,calling on stakeholders and other state Governors to emulate Nasarawa state Governor,He further commended Nasarawa state PTA and the state Governor for the construction of a befitting state secretariat in Lafia,the state capital,adding that ,”is only in Nasarawa state that NAPTAN has a benefiting secretariat.
