The Civil Liberty Organization (CLO) has threatened to drag the Nigerian Army to court over the recent shooting of a 26 year old boy, Mr. Edolo Bouepre by a soldier during the last Saturday aborted 2013 convention of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in Bayelsa.

The 26 years old victim, Edolor Bouepre, who was at the convention as a delegate from the Tarakiri clan as an indigene of Touruo Rua community in Sagbama Local Government area of the State, was shot during the rowdy session that trailed the IYC convention over alleged attempt by some Politicians to hyjack the council constitution.

The leadership of the CLO led by its Bayelsa Chairman,Chief Nengi James, yesterday visited the victim in a home of the clan head of Basama clan,Comrade Abule Titus, with a donation of N50,000 to support his Medical Bills at the Federal Medical Centre.

Chief Nengi James announced the decision of the Civil Liberty Organization to drag the authorities of the Joint Military Task Force code named Operation Pulo Shield and the Nigeria Army to Court over the unprofessional conduct of its officer.

“The CLO is not happy over the state of the victim.We are ready to sue the Nigerian Army and the Joint Military Task Force over the show of wickedness by its trigger happy officer.”

“we are also unhappy because the action of the soldier could have triggered violence in the state and the region.We urge the Bayelsa State Government and the past Leaders of the IYC to assist this victim who is a member of the Ijaw Youth Council and was at the event legitimately.”

Speaking from his sick bed, Edolor Bouepre,thanked the CLO for its show of love and brotherliness,urging other Nigerians to help him because he does not want to die from this gun shot wound, while why inspire of the fact that he was outside the meeting hall due to the noise and rowdy situation, an unidentified soldier ran outside the hall and shot to the ground with the bullet deflecting to hit him in the stomach.

“I felt a sharp pain under some seconds,and saw my blood gushing out.I don’t want to die from this gun shot wound please”, he pleaded.
