Gubernatorial aspirant and chief Executive officer of Capital Oil and Gas ltd, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah yesterday described as untrue, stories making the round that he was arrested by the Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC).

Ubah who spoke with reporters in Awka contended that the story was manufactured by persons whose machinations are tailored towards running his image and carrier down by all means.

It would be recalled that Ubah had invited a spectrum of Anambra people to his younger sister’s wedding in Lagos two Saturdays ago and the powers that be at government house Awka felt uncomfortable.

Ever since those who attended the wedding have allegedly been branded enemies of the state government while Ubah is being accused of plotting to impeach the governor.

Continuing Ubah said “The invitation by the EFCC is routine and there is nothing wrong about that. I drove them in my car to their office and we exchanged pleasantries and it lasted for more than thirty minute and I left”.

“So anybody who is claiming that I was arrested is only trying to smear my image and tell white lies. Those who have nothing doing dwell in rumors and hear say and it does not speak well of them”.

“I went there and they asked of the subsidy matter which both the police and the court had concluded hearing and investigation and cleared me since and you know that the court ordered that I should be paid compensation for damages. So after that I left- Does that mean that I was arrested?

Ubah however urged his supporters and the people of Anambra State not be cowed by what he called the antics of enemies of the people adding that no amount of intimidation can stop him from rendering selfless services to the people.

“All those rumors and hear says are part of the ploy to distract me from my selfless drive towards serving my people. I want to urge my brother and sisters in Anambra state to discountenance all those rumors and l also wish to assure them that my covenant with them in 2014 cannot be broken by such undemocratic elements.

Ubah has since returned to his house and embarked on his normal business activities.

  1. UBA DOES NOT HAVE ANY IMAGE TO BE SMEARED.
    ANAMBRA SHOULD LEARN FROM IMO.
THEY SHOULD NOT HAND OVER POWER TO A QUESTIONABLE CHARACTER WHO SEES GOING TO EFCC AS ROUTINE.
HE WILL WRECK THE TREASURY IF MADE THE GOVNOR.
HE IS A THIEF AS WE NOW KNOW.
    HE HAS NO EDUCATIONAL BACKUP.
REJECT THIS FRAUD CALLED IFEANYI UBAH

  2. Hmmmh! I’m worried that someone who is aspiring to become a governor does not see anything negative in [in his own words] being invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for whatever reason.

    That, to me, portends danger.

    Just passing!

  3. Being invited by efcc ,questioned and cleared is not enough reason not to give a hardworking courageous son a chance.his profile is great, his ideas are tall.personally I will give him my vote if I believe he will deliver. We urgently need an action governor with a democratic mind that will carry the state along.Anambra state is in urgent need for infrastructural development and good leadership.personalization of governamental apparatus should not be condoned again if we want to move forward.think well and vote right.
