The Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Kehinde Bamigbetan who was abducted recently has been released. Bamigbetan was abducted last Mondayon his way home by four gun wielding men. He was abducted as he drove into Ona Iwa Mimo Street where his home is located in Ejigbo. Street Journal gathered that he was freed on late on Friday and he has returned to the waiting arms of his family members in Ejigbo. The kidnappers had initially demanded for a ransom of $ 1 million.
Though details of how his release was secured are still sketchy, Street Journal gathered that a ransom of N 15 million was allegedly paid before the release of the council chairman who served as the Press Secretary to Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu was secured.
Kidnapping has been on the increase in Lagos in the last one month, a trend that has become a source of worry for residents and law enforcement agents.
