Taraba Stabilizes As It Awaits the Return of Governor Suntai

Taraba State is witnessing an unprecedented level of political, economic and social stabilization despite the absence of Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai who is fast recuperating from injuries sustained in an air crash sometimes in November 2012.

The unfortunate air disaster that almost caused pandemonium in the political terrain of the State is gradually stabilizing with the acting governor of the State, Alhaji Garba Umar (UTC) steering its affairs with caution and commitment to the yearnings and aspirations of the people in tandem with the wish of the recuperating governor.

Reports show that so far since his confirmation as acting governor, he has restored the necessary machinery in motion for administrative convenience as well as the provision of infrastructure and security to move the State forward in the absence of the substantive Governor pending his arrival to the State any moment from now.

Commenting on the health situation of the Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar said, “My boss is responding positively to treatment and his situation has improved beyond imagination as I saw during my visit. I was assured by the medical team in Germany that he may soon be discharged from the hospital after the final test any moment from now and we shall continue to pray for his quick recovery and discharge for return to his office”, he said

According to him, the issue of the Governor’s health should not have any political coloration as mischief makers may want it saying, “It was an accident just like any other air mishap and by the special grace of the Almighty he survived it and now going through his final treatment for immediate discharge and return to duty post with enough stamina to continue to pilot the affairs of the State”.

The acting Governor appealed to other Nigerians to join the State in offering prayers for the quick recovery of the Governor and his safe return to continue to avail his wealth of experience to improving the living standard of the people.
