Delta SSG leads Isoko North PDP leaders on Thank you visits

For voting en-mass for all the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) candidates in Isoko South and North local government areas of Delta state during the 2011 general elections, Secretary to the Delta state government, Comrade Ovuozorie Macaulay over the weekend led Federal and state legislators, political appointees and other party leaders to a thank you tour across all the wards in Isoko North council area.

 

The SSG’s entourage had in attendance, Senator James Manager, representing Delta South senatorial district, Hon. Leo Ogor Okuweh, representing Isoko federal constituency in the House of Representatives and Deputy majority leader, Hon. Tim Owhefere, representing Isoko North constituency in the state Assembly, Mr. Joe Ogeh, Commissioner representing Isoko in the Delta state Oil Producing Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Mr. Patrick Ferife, commissioner of Lands Survey and Urban Development, Mr. Idisi, transition committee chairman of Isoko South local government area and Mr. Mike Ogwah, Special Assistance to the SSG among others party stalwarts.

 

The carnival like “Thank You” visit which lasted two day witnessed a large crowd of party faithful, supporters and followers as a result free flow of traffic along the busy Ozoro-Kwale-Asaba express way as well as rural and urban towns visited in the areas were affected.

Addressing a crowd of PDP members of Ellu, Aradhe-Ovrode wards at Ellu, Ofagbe, Okpe-Isoko, Bethel-Oyede, and other wards across the local government council, Macaulay thanked and commended the party members and believers who voted for all the party candidates during the 2011 general elections.

 

While appealing to the party members to continue to give their unflinching support to the Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration and all the Isoko elected and appointed political office holders, the SSG assured the people of the passionate commitment of the present government to better their lots through execution of people oriented meaningful projects.

 

Macaulay who stressed emphatically that the visit was not a political campaign but a thank you visit, used the medium to enumerate some of the state government ongoing projects in Isoko land which include construction of modern schools both primary and secondary, roads, pipe bore water and among others, promised that soonest more roads and schools and other social amenities shall be provided for the people.

 

In an interview shortly after the two days visit, the SSG expressed gratitude to all who made the visit a success saying that not only when the votes of the people are needed they should be visited adding that the sister Isoko South council area will take its turn in the thank you visit.

 

On his part, Isoko federal constituency representative in the House of Representatives, Hon. Leo Ogor Okuweh and Senator James Manager representing Delta South senatorial district of the state thanked and commended the party members for their votes even as they opined that a lot of developmental projects have been influenced to the area and promised that the people will continue to feel more impacts of dividends of democracy.
