Baring any last minute change of plans, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr Adewale Omirin may be on his way out of the number three seat in the State as his colleagues are said to have perfected plot to remove him over the sex scandal and N55 million Christmas Gifts involving him and the Chip Whip, Mrs Wunmi Ogunlola.

However, not willing to lose his seat without putting up a fight, Dr Omirin, in the last three days has allegedly been going from one spiritualist to the other.

Yesterday, Tuesday, January 29, 2013 alone, Omirin was said to have visited a spiritualist in Omu-Aran, Kwara State and another one at Ekute area of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

Source disclosed that the embattled Speaker was at the Celestial Church of Christ, Royal Parish alongside a member of the House of Assembly from Efon-Alaaye, Hon. Folorunso Ogundele at about 7:45pm yesterday for spiritual help.

The duo of Omirin and Ogundele, a Senior Evangelist in the Celestial Church came in the Speaker’s official car, a black coloured Toyota Camry (with covered plate number) and another Toyota Camry and Nissan Pathfinder SUV, belonging to Hon. Ogundele.

According to the source, Omirin and Ogundele came to the church at about 7:45pm while the spiritual work did not start until about 8:20pm and it lasted till 9:23pm. They left at about 9:30pm.

“Mr Speaker was bath spiritually three times with three prayer points,” the source said.

The source said the three prayer points were; to create confusion among the Assembly members planning the speaker’s impeachment, restoration of love between the Speaker and the State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and that God should retain his position as Speaker.

Omirin’s colleagues are plotting to impeach him over his alleged sexual escapades with the Chief Whip, Mrs Wunmi Ogunlola and the N55 million Christmas Gifts Scandal.

Governor Fayemi allegedly approved N55 million for the House for Christmas Gifts but the Speaker allegedly cornered the fund, releasing a paltry sum of N50,000 to each of his colleagues in the House.

Workers in the House that ought to have been paid Christmas bonus from the N55 million were also not paid a dime.

A source said only the Chief Whip, Mrs Wunmi Ogunlola benefited immensely from the fund as she was the one who was in charge of supply of Hampers. Each of the hampers allegedly cost N40,000.

It should be recalled that a few days ago, news went viral on social media that the Speaker was in London with the Chief Whip and the Chief Whip’s husband, Mr. Tunde Ogunlola created scene at Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti.

Wunmi was said to have travelled to London with the Speaker without informing her husband.

Wunmi was ferried out of the house last Monday by Taye, the Speaker’s driver.

Worried about the whereabouts of his wife, Ogunlola, a retired Court Registrar had gone to the Jibowu Hall, Govt House, Ado-Ekiti where the ACN Women Wing was holding a meeting.

He had excused the Speaker’s wife out and asked her the whereabouts of his wife because the Speaker’s driver identified as Taye came to the house around Bank Road in Ado Ekiti a few days ago and took his wife away. The Speaker’s wife asked the “lawmaker’s husband” if he could identify the said man that came to his house, and the man answered in the affirmative. Mr Speaker’s wife then called some government drivers and without wasting time, Mr. Ogunlola instantly identified Taye as the driver who came to pick his wife!

There and then, Mr Speaker’s wife descended on Taye, performed some Mike Tyson style on him before stripping him naked! As if that was not enough, sources also said that Mr Speaker’s daughter called in from London to tell her mum that a “strange” woman had taken over their home in London.

Though no official statement was issued by the Speaker and the Chief Whip, some ACN supporters claimed that the duo’s trip to London was official and that another member of the House, Hon. Segun Erinle was also part of the trip.

However, contrary to this claim, our investigation revealed that Hon. Erinle travelled out of the country before the end of December, 2012 and has not returned to Nigeria since then while Mr. Speaker and his Chief Whip travelled out of Nigeria to London on Monday, January 21, 2013.

Already, the sex scandal had attracted the attention of the governor’s wife, Mrs Bisi Fayemi, who was said to have had a meeting with Wunmi and another female member of the House, Mrs Modupe Olayinka yesterday.

The governor’s wife was said to have expressed her disappointment on the sex scandal and demanded to know why Wunmi was involved in such immoral act. Wunmi was said to have explained that her husband had not slept with her for three years and pleaded for understanding, saying; “ara kii se okuta now” (body no be stone now).

While ruing the possibility of Wunmi’s removal as the Chief Whip, the governor’s wife was said to have disclosed that Governor Fayemi was not favourably disposed to the removal of the Speaker for “political reasons.”

However, Hon. Modupe Olayinka was said to have insisted that if Wunmi loses her position, the Speaker must also be removed because the two of them brought shame to the House of Assembly.
