Law officers in Abia state have been charged to prosecute their cases diligently and consult with their superior officers to achieve productivity.
Attorney- General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Umeh Kalu gave the advice in an interaction with the officers at the conference hall of the ministry in Umuahia.
Kalu expressed appreciation to Gov. Theodore Orji for upgrading the condition of service of law officers. He reiterated the resolve of the state government to provide an enabling environment for law officers and urged them to reciprocate government’s efforts by working hard to justify investments made.
The Commissioner further advised them not to involve themselves in politics, assuring them that workshops would be organized to encourage them to be efficient ion the discharge of their duties.
He hinted that Gov. Orji has revolutionized the judicial sector of the state through the building of court halls and offices and listed other achievements of the governor in the sector to include manpower development through training workshops and conferences, improved welfare packages, payment of the new minimum wage, as well as clearing of arrears of salaries.
Others include appointment and promotion of judicial officers, granting of special allowances for magistrates, creation of new courts and procurement of vehicles to the officials by the governor.
