The Anambra State Police Commissioner, Ballah Nasarawa, yesterday said that the command has arrested a most wanted kidnapper, Olisa Ifejika.
Displaying the arms, ammunition, police uniforms and bullet proofs recovered from the kidnapper, the commissioner said a combined team of the IGP’s special task force and SARS operatives in the state acting on information, arrested Olisa and one other person at Ifite Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state. He alleged that the suspect has been on the list of wanted persons for high profile kidnappings, armed robberies and murder. He added that the suspect was also connected to the kidnap of Igwe Ihembosi in 2010.

“The suspect was responsible for the recent kidnap of Igwe Robert Eze, the paramount ruler of Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area. The suspect and his gang have been operating for about two years, and within that period, they killed five policemen at Okija, three at Ozubulu on April 2, this year, and attacked both Amichi and Ukpor police divisions on April 4, this year”, he said.

The commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of the command to riding the state of crime, and called on members of the public to volunteer useful information that would aid the police in carrying out its duties.
