A group, Justice for All Initiative, has commended Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji for embarking on the construction of court halls in Aba and Umuahia.
Ina press statement signed by its Coordinator, Chituru Egejuru, made available to247ureports.com, the group said the move would accelerate justice delivery in the state.
“We commend the governor for this wonderful initiative in enhancing the dispensation of justice in Abia State. It is no longer news that limited number of court halls, most of which are without modern facilities, have affected the smooth operations of the judicial arm of the government,” the group noted.
The Aba branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), in a communiqué issued at the end of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) a fortnight ago, also lauded Orji for erecting buildings that would house court halls in Aba.
While commending the governor, both groups bemoaned the situation in Aba. They said that the situation affects the administrative of justice in the city and called on the state government to expedite actions to effect repairs.
Recall that the state government has embarked on the construction of court buildings at the premises of the High Courts in Aba and Umuahia.
