Chaos In Kano As Five Fresh Bombs Uncovered Close To BUK

Pandemonium broke out this morning around 11 am in Kano Wednesday following finding of five high calibre Improvised Explosive Devices behind a popular bakery located along Bayero University Kano (BUK) road in Kano Municipality.

According to an eyewitness, the said five bombs were discovered just about the environs of the Bakery at Janbulo Housing Estate by some resident of the area who immediately alerted the police. However, it was gathered that it was a controlled detonation. According to information available to 247ureports the five bombs were discovered by some people in two bags and then alerted the police this morning, which the police detonated afterwards.

It was gathered that the bomb was found at Redbrick or Janbulo if translated in Hausa area by B.U.K. the area is also known to be a Muslim dominated area, as there is no Church or even Police Station or Post in the said area. Meanwhile a similar discovery was made yesterday morning at the lecture Hall of the Federal College of Education Kano that led to panic among the community and total disruption of academic activities at the institution.

The Incident at the Federal College of Education [FCE] had caused panic among motorists and commuters heading towards the area who were forced to change route for their personal safety, as security deployed to the area cordoned off the area while detonating the IED’s. It was gathered that the discovery of the IED’s along the strategic Kano Gwarzo road halted movement towards the area as traffic was diverted along the road. The diversion on the highway by security agent’s further aggravated people’s nervousness as several motorist and commuters were compelled to change route for safety.

It will be recalled that last Sunday a multiple explosion also rocked the neighborhood of the Bayero University kano campus.
