With the coming of the Supreme court judgment on the Imo State tribunal over the gubernatorial elections between Gov Rochas Okorocha [of the All Progressive Grand Alliance – APGA] and Mr. Ikedi Ohakim [of the Peoples Democratic Party -PDP], media operators for the involved camps have begun to apply propaganda as a tool to influence the Justices of the Supreme Court into delivery a judgement in their favor.

In particular are the recent activities of the Ohakim media operators.

The Ohakim group, last night, began the spread of the news of Gov Rochas Okorocha’s arrest by the London Metropolitan Police over allegations of money laundery.  The operators sent text messages to the Supreme Court Justices and to individuals within the media annd in the diaspora informing them of the said arrest.

Here is the excerpt of the message:

NEWS FLASH wrote: IMO GOV, BIZMAN QUIZZD, RELEASED BY MET POLICE.

Imo gov, Rochas Okorocha who was quizzed over d weekend by d Met Police, London & his partner, Tony Chukwu who was detained has been released. Okorocha was released on self recognition while Chukwu was detained after a discovery of a total of 10million dollars in their room following a raid by d Met Police.Okorocha’s trip to London is believed to have been triggered by fear of d impending supreme court judgment against his election.Earlier Okorocha had been defrauded of 8m dollar by Terry Waya who had promised to help him reach the judges. Consequently, the incident forced Okorocha to miss his scheduled return yesterday to attend d funeral rite of d late Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu at Zungeru,Niger State.

Responding, the media aide to the governor, Chinedu Offor, confirmed that the Governor was at the government house and that the story was fictitious.

Here is the excerpt of the response:

This is fiction from the devilish imagination of a desperate opposition who have failed in their bid to steal the peoples mandate and return to government house through intimidation and blackmail. Having failed at the courts, they have resorted to their well known but worn out tactics of Internet fictitious stories. His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha remains focused and will not be distracted by the demonic and rejected few bent on reversing the tremendous successes of the rescue mission. it is hardly a surprise that those ran the state to the ground and are being investigated by the authorities are desperately trying to cover their misdeeds by slandering the peoples governor. Their wicked lies will fail just like their  numerous evil plans. Imo must be better.

Independently, 247ureports.com can confirm that the governor of Imo, Gov Rochas Okorocha was never quizzed by the London police in London nor was he arrested. This is because an operator from the Ohakim camp placed a call to our correspondent at 11:59pm Sunday night with the number 08104557857 seeking to plant the aforementioned story on 247ureports.com. The operator [name withheld] indicated that they were willing to pay handsomely for the same story to be planted on our website. When our operator requested for evidence of the arrest, the operator said to not worry about the evidence – that they are willing to pay.

247ureports.com chose not to publish the story.

Meanwhile, the text messages has resulted to the Nigerian security operatives becoming interested in the matter. The security operatives, as gathered, have, in turn, invited the former governor of Imo State, Mr. Ikedi Ohakim for a discussion over his knowledge of the  fake SMS. According to information gathered, the security operatives were able to track the location of the SMS to Ex-Governor Ohakim’s Residence at Mary Slessor Street in Asokoro, Abuja.
