Information reaching 247ureports.com indicates that the tribunal seating in Awka has dismissed the petition brought by Prof Dorothy Akunyili [of the All Progressive Grand Alliance- APGA] against Senator Chris Ngige [of the Action Congress of Nigeria – ACN] over the Anambra Senatorial electoral race conducted in the central senatorial district last year.
The tribunal struck the case at 12noon citing lack of jurisdiction. The Supreme Court had earlier ruled that all tribunal cases must be concluded within the allotted time of 180days. The petition filed by the Akunyili legal team failed to meet the time allotment, according to the tribunal.
The ruling by the tribunal brought the battle between two titans to a close.
