From Citizen Reporter, Abuja

The last have not heard of the legal battles between Akunyili and Ngige. Before the Tribunal struck out Dora’s case, INEC had petitioned the Tribunal over forgery by Akunyili in her desperation to win the case. The Tribunal investigated the matter and found out that Akunyili actually lied by forging the document which did not exist anywhere in the Tribunal’s record.

Now at the Court of Appeal, reliable sources have confirmed that Akunyili delivered to judges of the court of appeal the sum of fifty million Naira (N50 million) shortly before the sallah weekend. She gave the money through a third party – her lawyer “agent”. The N5omillion was paid in Abuja.

She boasted to some of her supporters that “they have accepted what we gave them and we are sure of the judgment”.

Akunyili was sure of the judgment that she brought five bus loads of women to the Enugu Appeal Court last week Wednesday to celebrate her anticipated victory. One of the women who spoke on condition of extreme anonymity said she was shocked when the Appeal court adjourned the matter to today (Monday). The woman said Dora had had even set up canopies at her home residence in Agulu to celebrate the promised victory at Appeal Court.

It is gathered that Dora told her supporters that the reason the matter was postponed was because the judge who was supposed to preside over the case on that day did not come. The story of the expected judgment is now the subject of discussions in beer parlours and markets in Anambra. Dora has boasted that she has contacted very powerful people who are lobbying for her and that soon she will oust Ngige from the Senate.
