Kebbi: Tribunal Nullifies Gov Dakingari’s Election Victory

Information available to 247ureports.com indicate that the Tribunal seating in Kebbi State has nullified the gubernatorial election of April/May 2o11 and has ordered for a new election to be conducted. The ruling came 6pm Sunday November 13,2011.

The gubernatorial candidate for the said April 2011 elections under the banner of the Congress for Progressive Change [CPC], Gari Malam had petitioned the Tribunal against the results that saw the winner of the electoral exercise to be the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] candidate, Gov Dakingari. The petitioner charged that the election was marred by electoral malpractices that compromised outcome of the election. The tribunal panel after deliberation agreed with the petitioner.

The Governor of Kebbi State, Malam Dakingari is yet to respond to the ruling of the electoral courts but sources close to the activities in the Kebbi government house indicate that the Governor intends to appeal the ruling.
