Having successfully concluded the campaign tours of Anambra North zone, the Chief Chris Ubah-led PDP campaign train in Anambra state yesterday commenced tour of Anambra Central senatorial zone. Their first port of call was Achalla, the Hq of Awka North LGA; thereafter to Awka South, Anaocha, Njikoka, Idemili North and Dunukofia LGAs.

From Achalla, the campaign train rode in grande style into Awka, the Hq of Awka South council. They also used the opportunity to pay a courtesy call to the traditional ruler and monarch of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu(Eze Uzu Awka)

The turn out was awesome as speaker after speaker acknowledged that PDP in still very much on ground in the zone/state.
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Chief Uba in his speech acknowledged and appreciated President Goddluck Jonathan and all that he has done for the state and South East Zone in general. He therefore urged all citizens in the state to vote massively for Jonathan and all the PDP candidates so as to continue enjoying the special attention of the FG. He went ahead to introduce all the National and state Assembly candidates to the people for them to acquaint themselves of those to be voted for during the next month’s general elections.

The party chairman, chief Ejike Oguebego handed the party’s flag-the symbol of authority to all of them. They included Senator Annie Okonkwo, Chief Emma Nweke, Chief Charles Odedo, and others.

Sen Annie Okonkwo who got a standing ovation assured the people that his initial stint at the National Assembly opened a floodgate of goodies for the state. That his return to the Senate would unleash even more development on the zone. A return would also put him on a better position of advantage as a ranked Senator, with so much privileges and benefits for the constituency.

He admitted knowing the needs and challenges of the zone and her citizens too well because he is one them, lives and relates very closely with all of them. So he would pursue all those needs with so much vigor.
Emma Nweke confirmed that he has a lot of programmes already running under his Madam Esther Nweke Foundation through which he has been reaching the less privileged. That with the instrumentality of the National Assembly he would cover more mileage and attract the FG and other international donors to the constituency.
Odedo whose scorecard was catalogued in a booklet which many other candidates have been sourcing as a guide to achievements told the mammoth crowd at Idemili North yesterday that the taste of the pudding remains in the eating. That his few years in the House of Reps has availed him golden moments to learn/understudy the nitty gritty of the place, the synergy, the politics and ways to achieve greater development projects for your people. He therefore solicited for support and more votes to enable him achieve more boreholes, electricity projects, solar powered street light, scholarships, skill acquisition, poverty alleviation, widowhood support, women/youth empowerment and many more for the people. The tour continues.
