The Nigerian security forces were said to have abandoned their posts as the terrorist group approached. Up to 30o soldiers were said to abandon their posts. A fleeing resident, Malim Massa told 247ureports.com that the soldiers abandoned their posts and fled immediately they sighted the approaching forces of the Boko Haram. “All male adults and soldiers fled the town“.
