The attention of the Governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano has been drawn to a news report written by Ikenna Nwafor with the title, “IPOB Activities Should Be Put Under Check- Willie Obiano“.
In the said publication, the impression was created that Governor Willie Obiano was in support of the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria to deploy the military in the South East. The statement also went ahead to claim that Governor Obiano speaking through an organisation referred to as
Independent Media Support Organization (IMSO), said that it is high time the activities of IPOB members are put under check.
We wish to inform the general public that Governor Willie Obiano did not issue any such statements, neither is he connected or linked to Independent Media Support Organization whose activities he has no control over.
The public is hereby advised not to pay attention to false statements like this, purportedly coming from Governor Willie Obiano.
