Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the embattled business mogul, Jimoh Ibrahim who owns the Newswatch Times, a daily newspaper, is reported to owe its workers six [6] months salary.

According to the available information, Jimoh Ibrahim had stopped remitting salaries to the staff of Newswatch Times six months ago – even as the Newspaper continues to generate sufficient funds to offset the salary load. Mr. Ibrahim, according members of the owed staff who spoke with our correspondent, had told the staff to continue working without pay – that he would not be the first employer to owe workers. Mr. Ibrahim pointed out that he had worked workers with of other newspaper outfits for longer stretches of time.

Reacting to the refusal of Mr. Ibrahim, the Graphic Design Artist and his team downed tools in protest. The group downed their tools last week pending Mr. Ibrahim’s willingness to come to negotiate a solution to the payment of their owed salaries. Instead, Mr. Ibrahim sacked the group – and told them that if they were still interested in the job – to reapply.

A source from the news daily revealed that Mr. Ibrahim had been prepping to join the gubernatorial race in his home state, Ondo. “He has been gathering funds to join the race” said the source who also added that he has concluded plans to join the All Progressive Congress [APC].
