Yesterday a junta took over the reigns of power in Anambra State thereby concluding the task started in the last half of 2013, culminating in the deliberate bungling of Gubernatorial elections in the state, under the active direction of those who should ordinarily be trusted with our destiny.
It is a junta because it is not a reflection of the collective wish of the people of Anambra State, but a collegiate rape on their democracy by internal colonialists, using a few power-hungry and guilt-stricken incumbents and their collaborators in the umpire body to declare unreal results.
This Charade shall not stand.
The people of Anambra State deserve all the commendation for their attitude toward yesterday’s charade, even after an illegal public holiday was hurriedly announced on the same morning (March 17, 2014) to a shocked populace who were already in the schools, markets and offices, just to attract an artificial crowd to the venue that was filled with only APGA shirts.
It is instructive that those who were reported as dignitaries in the grand mockery of democratic attainments were only those involved in the chicanery that is setting Anambra five steps backwards in their strident march to progress. No Anambra ex-this ad ex-that; no senior citizen, no grade A public servant and none with a reputable profile ,outside these interest groups, made it to the event.
It is important to aspire to accomplishments, but it is more important to come to that aspiration in a shell of legitimacy. It is important to struggle to re-write history, but those who do so must come to terms with the knowledge base in THE LIGHT OF THE NATION.
True, Anambrra State have in time past slept on their democratic rights not to have outsiders collude with the rats inside to determine the direction of their political ascendancy, but it is yet morning and the dry bones shall rise again.
The Junta headed by one Chief Willie Obinao, who did not win any elections in Anambra State and is hunted by the criminal action of registering three times in the INEC VOTER REGISTER must be allowed be ruled by legitimacy, as all legal and legitimate rights would be deployed to stop the people of Anambra State from bleeding in their hearts, having been badly short-changed electorally.
While we have restrained ourselves from joining issues with Gov Peter Obi ,obviously in the throes of withdrawal syndromes  from power which has cast needless aspersion on Anambra greats, we seize this moment  to correct the wrong impression conveyed by Ex-Gov Peter Obi in his falsehood that yesterday was the first time a governor was handing over to a governor.
It is true that Chief Jim Nwobodo did not hand over to Chief Christian Onoh, but his Deputy Roy Umenyi did. Chukwuemeka Ezeife could not have handed over to Chinwoke Mbadinuju because theur regimes were six years apart. Ezeife was overthrown in 1993 after two years of governorship, while Mbadinuju was installed in 1999. Mbadinuju fully and properly handed over to Dr Chris Ngige, and Ngige’s Deputy Chief Ugochukwu Nwankwo handed over to Gov Peter, when Ngige had gone into self-exile to save his life from the master plan of Obi and Obasanjo.
Yet Ngige it was who introduced the first public handover owing to the exigency cited.
Those who choose to scatter Anambra State funds like ‘The Sower’ in the biblical parable, just because they are no longer in the saddle and lie about Anambra funds and bank balances, should also save the states history from being scattered because, even if the state lost the war from stopping an Abuja-aided rigging process, it has not lost the battle to tell their children the truth for tomorrow..
We state here for the general education of Ndi Anambra who need to continuously upgrade their knowledge on the running of their government, that the business of handover of government is not done in the open field were swearing –in and march pas6 is done. This must be the point of confusion for those who had opportunities to create their ‘firsts’ in eight years but lost that to pedestrian thinking ,only to create a last-minute blitz of awards and titles in the media to create a mirage of ‘firsts’.
Hence we say emphatically that March 17, 2014 was not the first time a governor  was handing over to another ,if at all there was a handover from one governor to another, as ti me will tell.
We thank Ndi Anambra once again for bearing the disappointment  of 16th .17th and 30th November 2013 Elections with maturity and comportment and urge them to brace up for real elections,as the battle in various legs and arms of the judiciary including the Tribunal and the regular Courts to restore their democratic rights, stolen by the out-gone regime along with their low and high collaborators. Justice shall be done!
THIS CHARADE SHALL NOT STAND
