The recent political imborglio that rocked the citadel of Nigerian politics left many people wandering on the sudden appearance of conflict a year after Nigeria’s General elections.

The Kwankwaso /Ganduje Feud that has become a Subject of public discussion is not a Surprise to any discering mind who has an insight of how Former Governor Now Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso piloted the affairs of the most popolous state of Nigeria Kano.

The Former Governor had during his stay as Governor of Kano State employed Serious propaganda as a tool in depicting the achievements recorded by his administration spanning from 2011 to Date.

The rot left by the administration especially in the education Sector calls for concern among the citizens of the state.

This ranges from the Internal Scholarship left for Students who are studying in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

While the administration embarked on Sponsoring Students abroad who were later left wallowing in hardship if not in abject poverty.

Indeed, the layman in Kano was left wandering that the blame should go to the successive administration in the state.

As the Saying Goes especially in Nigeria that Deputy Governors are spare tyres.

Most Deputies are left acting for their principals while the Governors execute policies as chief executives of their states.

As a concerned citizen of Kano, when I learnt  that Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje would Succeed Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, I begin to have sympathy for the old man because I know he was going to inherit a state indebted in many sectors from capital projects, education and employment of the state indigenes into the civil service, bla, bla, bla.

Former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso initiated projects for the people of Kano State but mindful of the Fact that the projects were debt incurred that will be left for incoming administrations to settle in donkey years to come.

However,  an average Kano Man is yet to understand this.

Even the projects initiated, only some miniature percentage were completed with a huge debt of about 300 billion Naira owed to contractors.

The Kano Man who is politically oriented forgot that it is during the 2016 Budget that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in his quest to Develop Kano State included debt ridden mega projects in the budget because the former administration did not pay the outstanding Funds to contractors while institutes were intitiated without the manpower to make them effective and efficient.

Take for Example, the 44 schools for Islamic Studies established in the 44 Local Government areas which are yet to be completed.

Where are the indigent Arabic Teachers to man them, let alone the Funds to employ their services.

But, with the Former Governor’s propaganda, he informed the world that his administration has established 44 schools of Islamic Studies.

Another Gimmick was the claim to have established 44 Technical Schools in the 44 local Government areas.

The question to ask here is where are the equipment? Even our own Technical School established by Emir of Kano of blessed memory, Late Alhaji Abdullahi Bayero need serious equipment to be accredited by National Board for Technical Education, let alone the issue of establishing other Technical School.

In one of his outing to states recently, the Executive Secretary National Board for Technical Education, Dr Mas’ud Adamu Kazaure told Governor Ganduje that if not for the Intervention of some individuals, Kano State Polytechnic would have been closed down for long.

It is evident that Kano people have to understand that the policies and projects of Former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso are mere window dressing.

The Feud that arose recently between the political gladiators in Kano is long over due as from June 2011 to May 2015.

The administration of Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has collected over 400 billion Naira while the 44 Local Governments have recieved 360 billion Naira as grant but even contractors were left with a huge debt of 300 billion Naira according to a Transition committee report.
