Nasarawa Govt To Investigate Recent Killings In Andaha, Iga And Panda

The recent unfortunate spike in ethnic conflict in some areas of the State will be investigated and any traditional ruler found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with Nasarawa State Government extant laws.

This was the position of Nasarawa State government during the coronation and presentation of staff of office to the 17th Emir of Lafia Honorable Justice Sidi Bage,an occasion held at Lafia square.

Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura directed security agencies to investigate the recent isolated skirmishes in Panda Development Area and part of Iggah community in Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area and bring to book whoever is culpable.

He further said Government will not fold its arms as tribal bandits unleash mayhem in their communities. Inspite of these isolated and unfortunate developments.

The beleaguered governor,it could be recalled gave security agencies in the State one week ultimatum to fish out bandits that unleashed mayhem on the peace loving people of Numa community in Akwanga Local Government.

It be recalled that suspected Fulani bandits massacred 17 persons including under age and pregnant woman few weeks back.

“Nasarawa State has remain largely peacefrul. We wish, therefore, to thank the people of Nasarawa State for their massive support, loyalty and understanding accorded to us over the years”.said governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
