2019:  I’ll Return Power To Abia People – Otti

Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA) in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has promised to return power to the masses of the state if elected governor in 2019.

He stated that the Abia has been hijacked by few persons leaving the masses of the state in abject poverty and poor infrastructure.

Otti disclosed that he has no godfathers whom he will channel the resources of the state to, stressing that as a tested technocrat, he has the required skills to manage Abia economy and its intricacies and blamed successive administrations in the state for refusing to create a conducive environment for people to excel.

He described Abia as a wealthy state, and wondered why salaries and pensions are not being paid and promised to create an enabling environment for the state to excel, if elected governor in 2019.

“I have no one to funnel our commonwealth to, but for the entire Abia people. Indeed, only God Almighty is our godfather.  I have been blessed by God and have no need to deep my hands into the resources of the state to further personal interest. We know that our state isn’t poor; we know that our people are not lazy; we know that our youths are not idle; we know that our women are not lousy; we know that our entrepreneurs are not unimaginative. So, what is the problem?

“Are we better off with the way we are now with the way our neighbours including Anambra and Ebonyi are? We lack a government with vision and we lack a government with action. The Bible said my people perish for lack of vision. Our past and present government has refused to create a conducive environment for people to excel, but as tested technocrats, we have the required experience to manage our economy and its intricacies.

“I must thank you for your commitment to this party. I enjoin you to keep faith as we go into campaign and elections. We are confident that we will win as we have won before. We shall take over the Abia government come 2019. Evil may persist for a while but victory is assured. We shall begin the long process of transforming our beloved state. Everyone knows that prior to 2015, the state had performed woefully but we never bargained that we will get to the level of decadence we found ourselves in three years. Salaries are not being paid, health care delivery has become virtually nonexistent and education is decrepit.”
