The National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) has call on government at all levels to embarked on training and re-training of Health Practitioners to enhance quality health care.
The State Chairman NAGGMDP, Dr Musa Yusuf made call on at the opening ceremony of its National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting 2018 in Bauchi
He said constant training and re-training of medical practitioners would curb medical tourism across the country and will enhance quality health care provision.
“We need to learn more and new things on medication and practices of the profession, so that you become  aware of the global train of the profession.
“Healthcare professionals should be retrain to enhance their knowledge, skills and attitude for positive provision of effective health care delivery,” he said
Mr Yusuf urged government to also provide adequate equipment and facilities in the hospitals, adding that alone will also encourage practitioners to do their job effectively,” he said
Also speaking the state Commissioner of Health Dr Zuwaira Ibrahim said the training and re-training was among cardinal point of the 5 point Health Agenda of the state.
She said the state government and the donor partners have done much in terms of training and re-training of Health workers in the state.
“There was a continue training of health workers from the primary health care, secondary and others facilities and is going to be a continuous process,”
Mrs Ibrahim expressed concern over shortage of health practitioners in the state.
She however said arrangement are on ground to recruits more health workers in the state to meet up with the human resources challenges and to achieve universal health care coverage‎
