Boko Haram: Christian displaced persons receive N13m lifeline

Christian displaced persons numbering about 60,000 from Gwoza local government council in Borno state, have received donation of cash and food items worth N13 million,247ureports.com learnt.

Chairman, BoT, Gwoza Christian Communities (GCC), Bishop William Naga said: “So far, Christian displaced persons from Gwoza LGA, have received donation of N12 million cash from Governor Kashim Shettima. While 100 bags of rice and four cows were donated by former Commissioner Usman Mamman Durkwa.”

247ureports.com gathered that Bishop Naga, who distributed food items to GCC members in Maiduguri, said only 15,000 members have been identified in seven various camps within the metropolis, while 46,000 others have been reportedly found in some nine villages within and outside the border.

“Also, for about 16,000 of my members whom we learnt that they have crossed the border and currently taking refuge there, we will soon leave for Cameroon Republic in order to evacuate them with the support of the state government, God willing,” Bishop Naga optimised.
