As the crisis rocking the Anambra State Chapter of the People’s Democratic party, PDP, deepens, the state secretary of the party, Chief Gilbert Obi reiterated that the party would not harmonise with rival faction of the party.

He revealed that the focus of the party now is on how to return President Goodluck Jonathan in his second tenure bid come 2015 Presidential election pointing out that rival faction is irrelevant for now.

He expressed satisfaction with the achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan and his sterling quality and vowed that nothing would stop the state PDP and the people from voting the President again in the 2015 presidential election.

The secretary disclosed also that the party in the state led by Chief Ejike Oguebego, has no plan to harmonize with any factional group in the state as alleged.

He reiterated that the activities of the Boko Haram and other terrorist groups would not stop the president from contesting the election even if the activities of the terrorists were meant to frustrate him.

He described Anambra State as the heart of the South East geo-political zone hinting that All Progressive Congress, APC, bid to get at least a state in the zone would be highly impossible.

According to him, “even if the factional group of PDP that said it would harmonize with us decamps to APC, it is non of our business because the state is a PDP state, APC is foreign to the  Igboman”.

He said, “in 2015 we will increase the number of our law makers in the state and national levels. Presently we have five members in the House of Representatives, two Senators, and eight members of the State House of Assembly”.

On the preparedness of the party to grip the state in 2015 he said, “by 2015 we will increase the numbers to 11 members in Reps, three Senators and 15 state House of Assembly”.

Chief Okoye revealed further that the Present party executive tenure in the state would expire in 2016 and advised whoever that is contesting for any elective post under the platform of PDP in the state to be hopeful of the support of the party on winning the primaries.
