Greetings to you dear fellow Abians at home and in Diaspora.

I am Onwubiko Emmanuel, from Bende Local Government Area of Abia State. The urge I had in writing this letter to Abians, is because posterity will not forgive me as a social critic, activist and writer with fear of God if I do not tell Abians and Nigerians at large the honest happenings in Abia State, in respect to Governor Theodore Ahamefula Orji (Ochendo Global) administration from 2011 till date.

It is crystal clear that apathy, passivity and indifference may keep the nation in the wilderness for another generation. Quietness or silence is not always golden; sometimes it forges chains of slavery, bondage and affliction on helpless sons and daughters of God.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing” (Edmund Burke). We have paid dearly for our passivity of previous years. Our burden of guilt must be unbearable as we observe our national loss. Can we claim to be literate or godly if we still remain indifferent? “The illiterate of 21st Century will not be those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn” (Alvin Toffler). The pain of our past negligence is enough shock treatment to wake us up from our lethargy.

A promising future demands everyone’s involvement. “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the change that we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek” (Barack Obama). Twelve- elder- representatives were sent as spies to Ca’-na-an land and they were to report back to Israel. They were the eyes of the nation; the nation could only see what they had seen, nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else. They became the mind of the nation; the faith or fears, their courage or their cowardice, their decision or lack of decisiveness would make the nation move forward or turn backward. This privilege of involvement gave opportunity to “the twelve” to inscribe their name on the nation’s book of records as guiding stars in all generations.

In Nigeria and the International Community, it is rare to read or hear an activist or a social critic commend or appreciate a politician due to their inability to deliver the mandate of the people who voted them into power. But in Abia State Governor Theodore Ahamefula Orji (Ochendo Global) has inscribed his name with gold in Abia State book of record for posterity with International and Standard Legacy Projects and tremendous achievements.

Since 2011 till date (Ochendo Global) has achieved more than we Abians expected from him, he has added value and restored hope in Abia State, through his tremendous, purposeful and focused leadership with result oriented administration through various fundamental, developmental, hope-rising and restorative legacy projects and programmes in the entire three senatorial zones of Abia State and infrastructural development that has so far taken place within his second tenure is second to none and immeasurable.

John F. Kennedy, on being inaugurated as American President, on 20th January, 1961, had this to say “the world is very different now, for man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty in all forms of human life”. It is based on this that made Socrates, to say that “the way to gain a good reputation is to endeavour to be what you desire to appear”.

Chief T.A. Orji (Ochendo Global) has gain reputation in Abia State and Nigeria at large which is evident in his posture as Chairman South-East Governors Forum. It is now lucid considering his numerous monumental and developmental legacy projects in Abia State in different sectors such as: education, health, commerce and industry, housing, transportation, road construction, rural and urban development, poverty alleviation programmes, peace and security, power etc that he is the colossus, eureka and the oasis in the dessert of lost hope of governance that Abians has been longing for.

These projects are physical and been used by Abians and Nigerians at large. Especially the Abia Specialist Hospital and Diagnostics Centers, Amachara Specialist Hospital and many other General Hospitals in all the Local Government Areas of Abia State, not to mention the gigantic Ultra-Modern State Secretariat, and the renovation of the obsolete and dilapidated former one which is now functioning for the betterment of Abia State Civil Servants, The New Government House Complex, Multi-Storey Local Government joint Accounts and Allocation Committee House (JAAC), Modern Abia State Universal Basic Education Board Building, Ultra Modern e-library Building, also the World Class International Conference Center, Gigantic Abia State Environmental Protection Agency Building, The New Ultra Modern Broadcasting Cooperation of Abia State Complex, New High Court Complexes in Aba and Umuahia respectively, Free School Buses that convey Primary and Secondary School Children  in Aba and Umuahia, Empowerment of Abia Youths with over Seven Hundred Free Vehicles, Relocation of Umuahia Main Market to a World Class Built Market with amenities such as Fire Service with equipped machineries , Boreholes, good Road Network, Power Supply and Security etc at  Ubani Ibeku,  Relocation of Timber Market, Mechanic Village to Azueke-Ndume and Ohiya/Nsukwe respectively with standard road network, and Construction of uncountable roads in different areas, streets, towns of Umuahia and Aba and also in different Villages above all the restoring Security of Lives and Properties by sending those arm robbers and kidnappers to exile thereby restoring peace and return of investors back to Abia State without fear of anything etc.

Honestly, Governor T.A. Orji (Ochendo Global) has proved his mantle to Abians and Nigerians at large that “Destiny is not a matter of chance; but a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be achieved (Williams Jennings Bryans) with all sincerity of heart (Ochendo Global) has achieved a Golden Destiny for Abians at home and in Diaspora.

This piece is not sponsored by any political organization or otherwise but as a responsible and honest social critic, activist and writer who has seen and touched Governor T.A Orji’s tremendous legacy projects and his immeasurable achievements in Abia State, is crusading against sub-version, mere chauvinism and the perfidious jingoism in our nation politics. Also this publication is aimed at conceptualizing all Abians at home and in Diaspora  to ignore lies and  deceit from mischievous politicians saying and writing to tarnish the image of the Executive Governor of Abia State.  I hereby put a clarion call and urge all Abians to support this God fearing, visionary and dynamic eureka Chief Sir. T.A Orji (Ochendo Global) for posterity.
