Press Release: Abia Governor Thanks Abians in USA, Assures Safe Abia

Abia state Governor Chief Theodore Orji has described the awards he received in the USA recently as not only motivating but equally encouraging and inspiring.

Abians in Houston Texas gave the governor the icon of peace and security award, while the national association of Ndi Isiukwato in USA gave him the pillar of excellence award.

Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary Ugochukwu Emezue, the Governor said he was overwhelmed with the show of appreciation and solidarity shown to him by not only Abians but Ndigbo in the USA.

According to the governor, he is determined to leave ever lasting at the end of his tenure in 2015. Chief Orji stated that his preoccupation now is to ensure that the numerous projects he had embarked upon are completed on time.

He also hinted that he is doing his best to ensure that civil servants in the state are taken care of as exemplified in the new secretariat he is building. He also said that his decision to pay workers 20,100, and the introduction of new reforms are clear manifestation of his desire to reposition the civil service for greater productivity and efficiency.

Chief Orji declared that he will not look back in ensuring that Abia remains number one in terms of safety across the nation. He maintained that he will continue to support security agencies in the state with patrol vans, communication gadgets and other logistics.

Meanwhile the Governor has charged Umuopara people in the USA to remain good ambassadors of the state. The governor gave the charged in a fund raising event in the USA. Chief Theodore Orji also urged them to partner with him in the development of the state. The Governor was represented by his adviser on Diaspora matters Kingsley Megwara .
