El-Rufai, often addressed as De-facto Vice President for his strong influence in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had been in the news for having gross disregard for Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

At the Commissioning of the Abuja-Kaduna Railway Project, the Kaduna State Governor, who gave his address before the Senate President recognized President Buhari as his leader and Mentor, referred to Saraki as Senator then proceeded to recognise Dogara as his brother and speaker of the House of Representatives.

Apparently angered by El-Rufai’s disregard for his position, Saraki, when it came to his turn to speak recognized the President, the Speaker and other guests present without a mention of El-Rufai, who happened to be the only serving Governor Present at the event.

Saraki, who is having an under declaration of assets case before the Code of Conduct Tribunal is also being charged along with his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu for forgery of Senate Standing Order.
