President-Buhari-2

A new group loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari led administration known as Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) has asked opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) to leave the president out of the activities of anti corruption agencies, saying the president will not interfere.

The group believed that there is a lot of misconception going on about the policy and programs of the present government but because they believe in President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government they will be coming out to defend his administration.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Coordinator of the group, Muhammad Labbo, said under the present government the anti corruption agencies are now living up to the expectations.

“we are a group comprising season journalists that know what is going on in this country, we know what is correct information and what is incorrect information. So, when there is need for us to intervene in educating Nigeria we will do that for the sake of our country.”

“The anti corruption agencies in this country are now living up to the expectations. The President is not interfering in what they are doing. Let us get it correctly, the president has affirmed that he will uphold the rule of law, whatever is what doing must be done correctly.

“This is a President that is committed to the rule of law and he has said it that he is not going to interfere. So, please stop bringing the President into whoever is being charge by the anti corruption agencies. The era of impunity of interference in this country is over. This is an administration that is band by the philosophy of rule of law and that is what is doing.”

Laddo challenged Buhari’s critics to “if there are petitions that has not been acted upon by the anti graft agencies ask them why they have not done that, please leave the President out of this because the president is not interfering and he is not going to interfere in any petition against anybody.”

He said his group will frequently analyze and synthesize the opinions of the public, and in any situation where they find it appropriate to respond, to either educate or enlighten the general public on the programmes and policies of government, “we usually intervene.”

He added: “We have observed that some elements in the opposing PDP have continued to espouse uninformed positions on the state of the Nigerian economy under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We join our voice to the call by the president for return of community policing in the affected states.  In appreciation of our military, we call on Nigerians to actively support members of our armed forces still battling Boko Haram in the North East.

“We equally applaud Mr. President for staying true to his commitment to battle corruption in all its ramifications, and within the ambit of the law.”

Reacting to a question on what the present government has done to save the economy, Laddo said: “Forex has stabilized, the banking system is also not in distressed. There are a few problems here and there in the capital market but there’s stability there too. Everything about the economy is going on well, though it might not be as expected because of the rots the present administration met on ground.

“I want you to recall that the president has done this in 1984 where he met a situation similar to this and was able to stabilize the economy then. The price of crude oil in the country is not what it used to be before now, the foreign reserve has also improved and the president really deserve commendation for all these.”
