Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano has stated that he will constitute a special team that will spray some selected parts of Anambra State as a way to flush out rodents and mosquitoes that are known to be the carriers of both the Lassa and Zikka viruses.

Obiano made this know during a recent interaction with journalists in the state, saying the move will ensure that the viruses responsible for Lassa fever and the spread of the zikka virus was kept in check.

The governor said that he will be doing this at a time when most state governors are battling to pay wages in their various states, but Anambra has continued to pay, and even embarking in new life changing projects.

“I am always happy when people ask me where I get the money to embark on the kind of projects I do. This is because the worse thing that will happen to anyone in government is for people to ask you what you did with all the money you received.

“In this government, we have adopted an approach of doing more with less, so at this time when Nigeria is facing a lot of trouble in terms of revenue, we have cut down on expenses, such that with the less we have, we are doing more.

“Very soon, we will constitute a special team that will start the fumigation of the state, and selected areas will be fumigated against the Lassa fever and the zika virus which are carried by a kind of mosquitoes said to have arrived Nigeria.” Obiano said.
