The residents made this call short after nine of the inhabitants of rice farming community were shot dead by the Boko haram terrorits who invaded the town on Friday evening and operated for about three hours.
” nine residents were killed including a woman and a small child, right now the terrorist are in a nearby village of Koshebe about 7 kilometers away, the military should go after the terrorists now before they return to kill us all ” Garba sani one of surving resident said.
Boko haram had in the last five days killed nearly 200 people from different communities of Borno state – 45 people were killed in Monguno on Tuesday, 97 killed in Kukawa Wednesday, two suicide bombers blew themselves up and killed 7 others in Malari near Maiduguri , 9 Boko haram deserters were killed on Thursday while over 20 people lost their lives on Friday at a bus station in Muna garage inside Maiduguri .
The renewed daily attack have continue to over stretched facilities in the already crowded Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) Camps in Maiduguri, the state capital, making fleeing residents to call on the military to take the way to Boko haram terrorists.
” we can not all run and leave our homes for IDP camps in Maiduguri, we want the military to go after the Boko haram members and not to resort to repelling the terrorists when ever they attack. ” Sani a, local trader said.
Visiting the community where some shops and houses were still burning on Saturday,governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state urged the military to deploy more troops to ensure the protection of lives and properties.
Shettima also immediately directed that food stuff be given to the displaced resident while new pick – up vans for effective patrol made donated by the governor.
