The Police Command in Kaduna State on Wednesday confirmed the death of four persons in an attack at Yangal village in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Zubiaru Abubakar, who confirmed this to 247ureports.com, said that 12 other persons were injured in the incident.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Abubakar said they were already receiving treatment at the St Louis Hospital, Zonkwa.

He said no arrest had been made so far, but added the command had deployed more security to the area, while investigation had begun.

Meanwhile, Gov. Mukhtar Yero has condemned the attack, which he blamed on “miscreants’’ with intent to cause confusion and heighten tension in the state.

Yero, in a statement by his media aide, Ahmed Maiyaki, described the attack as “sad’’.

“It is rather sad that some people will stop at nothing in achieving their selfish goals including shedding the blood of innocent citizens of the state,’’ he said.

The governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency to immediately move to the affected community to provide support for the villagers.

He called on people of the affected community to remain calm; assuring that the perpetrators would be apprehended and prosecuted.

Yero condoled with the families of those who died in the attack and promised that the state government would pay the medical bills of the injured.
