Arising from it emergency meeting Thursday, Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Enugu State, chapter, blammed Nigerian police force, DSS for selective negligence over the  killings at Ukpabi-Nimbo in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State by the Fulani Herdsmen.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, signed by its chairman, Rev. Dr. Goddy Madu and the head of security, Apostle Dr. Joseph Ajujungwa, the group said the incessant attack by the Fulani herdsmen had become unbearable.

While blaming the role of security operatives, the PFN said “The attack of 25th April 2016 has shown us that the Nigerian police is not dependable and can never be trusted.
“The Fulani Herdsmen invaded the community with over 500 armed men, who were drawn from both Nassarawa and Kogi States, killing over 50 people in their homes and destroyed some churches and buildings.
“This is not the first and the Nigerian police did nothing, rather they filled all the Enugu urban with vehicles that cannot respond to distress calls, but busy collecting N20 and N50 from the keke and motorists.”
The communique reads; “The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has joined the state government to declare days of mourning, with prayer and fasting starting from 29th, 30th April to 1st May, for the blood of the innocent citizens wasted at Uzo Uwani and other places in the east and south.
“PFN is calling on the host communities to defend themselves, including the churches as a matter of urgency, and to set up lawful security around themselves. Should we run away from the invading Fulani Herdsmen who have vowed to destroy the southern Nigeria especially the East?
“Should we run away from our ancestral homes, leaving our fathers’ graves to the Fulani herdsmen. This is not good at all.
“We will not fold our arms and watch the Barbarians, Boko Haram, Terrorists and Herdsmen take us to our early graves.
“They are blood drinkers wicked and ungodly, let us rise to this challenge and never fear anymore.
“We call on all Christians, villages, towns and people to rise and face this challenge squarely without delay. We cannot loose our farm lands to the Herdsmen and we cannot run away from our father land.
“We call on the Nigerian police force to please rise to their duty of protecting lives and properties. How can they watch all the people they are to protect perish like this?
“From the boundary between Enugu and Benue, we have more than 20 check points but none of them trapped down these wicked mercenaries from other states that invaded Enugu State? We are tired of this nonsense.
“We call on the IG of police to probe the activities of the police in Enugu State, especially Nsukka Area command and Uzo Uwani Local Government Area Divisions. We are not satisfied with the activities of the police in our Local Government Areas.
“PFN consoles the churches and families that lost their beloved ones. But for how long will this continue? We cannot bear it any more. May God receive the souls of our loved ones who have been cut down pre-maturely.
“Finally, we want to ask the president what we have done in this country. The Igbos have been driven away from Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Kano, Kaduna and from all the 19 Northern States, our churches destroyed, and businesses, our loved ones killed, and no one paid us any compensation. We camee back empty hand and to start afresh in our villages and communities, now the Fulani herdsmen have come to destroy our farm lands and houses. President Buhari, what did we do? Why have you kept quiet and watch us die shamefully?”
